Hey, but you don't even need to wait for that picture-perfect setup! A lot of the time people have opportunity to inadvertantly/surreptitiously glimpse the contents of one's purse while they're right there in proximity and one is rummaging. Then without ever bringing up the key phrase, they might forget themselves and ask "What's with all the string?"

And you could look up, all moon eyed innocence and say, "Oh! Oh. Well...I have to hold the purse strings." If they return that with a blank look, you could clarify in a smaller voice, "My husband doesn't carry a purse."

In short, I agree with you that preparation in this case could be well worth it.

Sometimes I do wish I wasn't working for evil capitalist overlords, but whatcha gonna do. At least our evil capitalist overlords send us legit praise (and biscuits in the post!).

You know, there's really no reason why evil capitalist overlords can't run a tight ship with high morale, keeping the team members empowered and invested as stakeholders in the enterprise. If you look at it from a morally relativistic standpoint, fuck ethics! When evil's the name of the game, sometimes noble means can be used to justify evil ends while romping all over the competition - because you attract and keep the best people, and the best people do good work while you're corrupting them. That's a win win for evil - and the labor force.
