What's happening right now is that I'm procrastinating really hard on a bunch of work I was supposed to have finished last week. So that's cool.

Cooooooolcoolcoolcoolcool nodoubtnodoubtnodoubt
Maybe if you procrastinate even harder you'll progress to a new plane of procrastination where the work is actually procrastinating YOU.

Dude, that's deep.
I'm eating lunch, and wondering how much further behind we'll fall at work before they decide to approve getting some extra people to pitch in.

I'm done work for the day and I'm just sitting with Polly the cat on my lap. Might start reading, might play animal crossing or might stare at the screen willing more people to post - hard to say.

I feel like my posts have not yet gained the sort of self-sustaining momentum that used to convince me of their ephemeral and enduring value.
It's not a confidence problem, so much as an out-of-practice thang. I must find groove before I can groove, somehow.
I get the same issue with writing poems. OH SHIT
I wrote an ugly poem earlier and must put a beautiful poem on top of it! WHAT WHAT

Is that just a sort of random roll of TP over there? Up and to the right?
Isn't it horrible how someone shares a snap of life with a CLEAR, EVIDENT FOCUS AND POINT and you're all scrutinizing in the margins! Ahem. Sorry.

...up and to the left, unless the photo has somehow flipped itself? And not quite, large random roll of extremely useful blue paper that mostly functions a kitchen roll.
I don't mind the margin-scrutinising at all; perhaps because I'm terribly guilty of it? But I like seeing the extraneous details shared by others, the things that go unremarked but are there are part of that moment that's been captured. And I quite like the idea that others might take interest in those unimportant details of mine.
Willow is an extremely catty cat. It is one of her best and also most inconvenient qualities.

I felt pretty sure my margin scrutiny would be excused on just those grounds. SELF-CHUFF
(Although I omitted the "go unremarked" part)
YES. Up and to the LEFT. I even darted my eyes up and to the left as I typed "Up and to the right?" WHAT HAPLESS FOULUPPERY! IN SO INSIGNIFICANT A MATTER! I am revealed as an intellectual slob and juvenile at the art of living!
Man, I seem to be in a real make much of little mood. Or...maybe I'm in a real noticing that I do that mood. Acclimate, dogimo, acclimate.

HUMMINGBIRDS IN THE YARD!
I used to love that! I'd sit in a weathered metal chair and watch them float and zip, dipping their needlelike beaks in the flowery drink. HOW could nectar possibly pack so much POWER as to make this process energy positive? Yet clearly it did.
I didn't know hummingbirds had any negative effects.

I find it hard to imagine a downside to visiting hummingbirds, but then I haven't met any so far in life.
In fairness, the visiting pigeon that keeps sitting on the spreaders and shitting copiously on our coach roof is a good example of an unwelcome bird guest.

I love "In fairness." I love how wild its reference is, and how often it can be quite difficult to work out who it is "in fairness" to.
In this case, fairly straightforward. To emmyjoye, right? If so, I'm on board for that cause.
It threw me for a sec, though. I'm a little on the slow side with reference and inference, suchlike. I was like "in fairness to who? Hummingbirds? Pigeons? SOPHISTIKITTY?" Then I put it together. Just a process of backtracking to the source.
Anyway. It made me realize how much I love "In fairness." In fact, I confess sometimes I throw it in in a context where there isn't anyone or anything you could figure out it was in fairness to! It's just this sort of free form summoned emanation of fairness!
I have a theory that this is how fairness is created in the first place. This is how fairness enters the world.

In fairness, maybe she's just very protective of her yard. Perhaps it's not hummingbirds per se.
